The above print and the post card below have hung in every bedroom of mine since age twelve. We all have artists who we adore, who inspire us, whose work has enriched our lives by speaking directly to us. As I said in a previous post, one of those artists for me is Andy Warhol, whom I’ve adored since the sixth grade when my weekly planner was filled with his work. Not aware at the time of what an icon he was, I thought he was my on personal discovery. Kinda like in elementary school when I thought the Pixies BELONGED to only me.

Not only does his artwork move me, but the things that came out of his mouth are absolutely priceless. I did a whole line of Enderby tote bags hand stamped with this quote a few years ago:

Wanting to bring his work into my home, I was inspired by an Apartment Therapy post on how I could do just that. So this week’s episode of Decor It Yourself was Warhol Quote Wall Art.

I created the piece on a door we needed to re-paint anyway. The door is in between our creative space and bedroom, so we get to enjoy it from both rooms. I love how it turned out, and love that you can create the same effect as a gift on a smaller piece of wood. An easy technique and great end result. How will you spin this project?
