I don’t know who needs to hear this today but if you’re in therapy I’m proud of you. This is me coming from therapy today and I’m proud that I’m doing the work. In my experience I’ve found therapy to be the foundation of true self care. My parents were the first of anyone we knew to get divorced so I was in therapy really young. It was always really normalized for me in both of my homes and I’m really grateful to my educator parents for that. They taught me that it’s an intelligent choice, making it easier to return to it throughout life to process a lot of things, including trauma. That shit is scary and hard but since “energy can not be created nor destroyed” trauma goes somewhere. Unfortunately it doesn’t magically go away, instead it’s our work to do. It’s hard stuff but I’d rather be present through something hard and intentional about processing it so it doesn’t come out sideways. Because unprocessed trauma is the best relationship destroyer ever. Therapy is smart and it takes bravery and patience to do. Sometimes it’s survival so BRAVO to any of you doing it.

Not that you’re asking, but if you were to ever enquire about some life advice from me I could only say this: Adopt dogs, vote in every single election, read real books, surround yourself with trusted high vibe people, feel your feelings then let them go, learn how to sit alone and breathe in silence in the discomfort of life and know you’re still okay, take care of the earth like it’s your only home, and if you choose to share your life with someone choose an evolved eco intersectional feminist. They are the best ones. Trust me. I’m FORTY.
