Happy International Woman’s Day to women of color who display unflinching grace, dignity, and strength in the face of the countless crimes our society commits on them. To trans women who are endangered and discriminated against merely for being themselves. To immigrant women who have sacrificed and worked harder than I’ll ever know to give their families a fighting chance. To women living with disabilities that aren’t included or represented nearly enough. To women living with invisible diseases and chronic illnesses that try to destroy so many aspects of your life. To our mothers and grandmothers who have fought so hard to try to secure basic human rights that we are still fighting for. To women denied motherhood, to women who choose not to be mothers, I honor us equally. Today and every day I celebrate women of all kinds who make this world run and who make the ride worth it. I honor us all.
